About Me

I was born and brought up in Leicestershire, where after school I went to Loughborough College Art to study textiles. I completed my teaching certificate at Hornsey College in 1967 and married John the Potter; we had met in the etching studio at Loughborough. I taught for twenty years at Ocklynge School, Eastbourne, teaching all subjects including Rugby. I retired officially eight years ago although I still go back to school once a week to teach an art club for gifted children. Still married after 44 years we live in a delightful house, have four grown-up sons (with lovely wives and partners) plus four adorable grandchildren.

Now together with my painting and helping John with his pottery, I am the Sussex Guild Publicity Officer, my first paid job ever apart from teaching! With time for my artwork, family history, wonderful holidays and our grandchildren what more could I want from life?
